A Perfect Summer at the Beach The sun peeked through my bedroom window; time to get up! The day was warm and gorgeous. It was the perfect weather to go to the beach. I woke up early and prepare our breakfast, so we can eat first before we leave. I can smell the eggs and bacon sizzling in a pan. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee makes my day complete. The pancake oozing with butter and maple syrup is ready to serve. I also prepare a fresh squeezed orange juice for the kids. When I was cooking everybody is starting to wake up. We are planning to go to the Narragansett beach with the family. Everything is all packed and ready to go. The kids are very excited; they help me to organize all the stuff that we needed since last night. After we eat our breakfast the kids immediately go to their bedroom and change for their cutest swimwear attire. While my fiancà © and I started to pack everything in the car. We arrive on time at my father-in-law’s house. As we expected my sister-in-law Kylie is late again. She never been on time whenever we have a family gathering. There is a notorious argument among the readers of this tragedy of whether or not Hamlet actually became insane after his fathers death or was just bluffing. Hamlet was not crazy. No one would be the same after the death of a parent, especially under his circumstances. In the beginning of the play, Hamlet claimed to see the ghost of his father. However, they were not that far apart, and as a result were not as dissimilar as it might appear at first glance. With only 30 years, and an ocean between them, the world of Bram Stoker’s Dracula, and the world of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby portray big similarities that even relate to their differences. The overarching theme in the world of Stoker’s Dracula is fear. The progress that occurs in the realm of technology and science does not make people less afraid, but actually gives the opposite effect. This comes from two main points, fear of the unknown, and the lack of consistency in the new technology. One example of this lack of consistency would be when the telegram that gave instructions from Van Helsing to Seward does not arrive on time, it leads to an attack by Dracula that causes the death of Lucy’s mother. Dr. Seward alludes to this horror by st ating, â€Å"The arrival of Van Helsing’s telegram filled me with dismay. A whole night lost, and I know by bitter experience what may happen in a night† (Stoker 148). PRINCE2 is an abbreviation for Project in Controlled Environment and it is a methodology that is based upon seven principles. These seven principles define the themes and processes that shall be followed during the project timeline from the starting of the project till its closure (Karaman, 2015). The primary difference that lies between PLC and PMBOK is that PLC is a predictive approach with set phases; however, PMNOK is a knowledge based scheme for project management (Ghosh, 2012). There can be variations that may be made under PMBOK as per the customer specifications and project requirements. PRINCE2 and PLC The order of processes that are defined under PRINCE2 have a close relation with PLC as the phases such as starting of the project, monitoring, control and closure are common in both (Turley, 2009). Also, both PLC and PRINCE2 provide a lot of focus on the planning of the project and consider it as the most significant processes that shall be carried out in the project. Theodore Roosevelt THEODORE ROOSEVELT Theodore Roosevelt was more than just the 26th president of the United States. He was a writer, historian, explorer, big-game hunter, soldier, conservationist, ranchman and Nobel Peace Prize winner. It is not surprising that his life was known as The Strenuous Life. Theodore was born into a wealthy and socially prominent New York family in 1858. Although with a quick mind he was not blessed with a strong body. He suffered from life-threatening asthma attacks throughout his childhood. Spurred on by his father, Theodore began to build up his body by strenuous exercise, and by adulthood he had become a model of physical courage and toughness. Early Political Life. As a young man Roosevelt decided on a dual career; law and politics. At the time, New York politics was dominated by men involved in machine politics. Yet he persisted in getting to know and understand them, while at the same time attending Columbia Law School. Eventually he secured the friendship of a man named Joe Murray who was able to get him nominated as a 21st District State Republican Assemblyman. Together, with Murray's contacts and knowledge of machine politics and his own family and social connections, Roosevelt was able to easily win the election. He was 23 and in Albany. Theodore served three terms in the New York Assembly. Roosevelt was a delegate to the Republican convention, and as a matter of principle he vigorously opposed the leading candidates - James G. Blaine and President Arthur. Roosevelt supported a reformer, Senator George F. Edmunds. In the end Blaine won the nomination, and this put Roosevelt in a difficult position. He did not believe that Blaine was honest, yet if he followed the example of other progressives and did not support him he realized he would be through in the Republican party. He supported Blaine. When Blaine lost Theodore received no political position, and his political career was over. Ranchman Roosevelt not only suffered political defeat in 1884 but deeply personal defeats as well. On the same day both his mother and wife died. These disappointments led to a radical change in Roosevelt's life. He decided to move to the Dakota Badlands to become a rancher. At the time many people thought that this was a good way to become rich. The Dakotas were not like the East - life could be a little wild and woolly. Resolution of disputes was done at the end of a gun, and thieves were often hanged as soon as they were caught. Roosevelt excelled at this rough and tumble way of life and earned the respect and devotion of the men around him. Roosevelt, however, did not excel at making money. He lost about half of his entire capital in ranching. But what he gained was, in the long run, of much greater value. The men he met there were to later join the famous Rough Riders whose exploits were the major impetus to his political success. In 1886 Roosevelt returned to New York to marry a childhood friend - Edith Carow. Together they had a very successful marriage and produced five children in addition to Alice, Roosevelt's child by his first marriage. Politics was still the place that Roosevelt wanted to be, but there were not many opportunities since his party was out of power. In order to support his family Roosevelt spent his time writing. This was not a new vocation for Roosevelt. Equally at home hunting for a book as hunting for a bear he wrote his first book The Naval War of 1812 while in law school and running for the New York Assembly. By the end of his life he had written and published dozens of books. Reformer In 1888 Roosevelt saw his chance to jump back into politics by campaigning for the election of Benjamin Harrison. When Harrison won he appointed Roosevelt to be a Civil Service Commissioner. It was with this job and later as Police Commissioner that Roosevelt made his reputation as a reformer. At the time both the Civil Service and the New York Police Department had serious corruption problems. Roosevelt did his best to clean up the corruption and make things work fairly. For

Comparison of Non-Vegetarians and Vegetarians - Essay Example Being a vegetarian or non-vegetarian is an individual’s decision. Both categories have their individualistic pros and cons. The desire to be a vegetarian comes from a myriad of sources which include a wish to stay healthy, live green and remain smart. There is a general perception that consumption of vegetarian food keeps one’s weight in control because of the reduced intake of fat. There is a significant population of vegetarians who consider it unlawful to slaughter animals or birds to eat them irrespective of the prevailing laws in the country. They consider it wrong ethically. According to them, just because humans have more brains and power as compared to other animals and birds does not deprive other species of their right to survival and existence. Being a vegetarian deprives an individual of a whole range of foods that are made of meat. Accordingly, the range of flavors with which the vegetarians can play to develop different tastes in different dishes is limite d. Vegetarians are generally smarter as compared to the non-vegetarians because some of the most common and potential sources of fat including butter and cream that are derived from animals are excluded from their diet. Research suggests that vegetarians, both men, and women, have a higher IQ level as compared to the non-vegetarians (BBC, 2006). The desire to be a non-vegetarian fundamentally emerges from the love of meat, though there are also other factors that play a role including a wish to stay healthy and strong. There is a general perception that consumption of non-vegetarian food facilitates the development of muscles and lends the body more muscular strength. Non-vegetarians do not consider it ethically wrong to slaughter animals and birds to eat them.
